Artist's rendition of the new public library on Clapham High Street, showing Logan's large scale LIBRARY sculptured letters

As part of an innovative, mixed-use regeneration scheme  on Clapham High Street, developers Cathedral Group have commissioned new public artworks for the brand new sustainable leisure centre and public library. In the spirit of regeneration, these works of art will celebrate Clapham’s past, present and future.

Following an extensive public consultation last year, world renowned artist Andrew Logan was chosen unanimously to create two large-scale works of art: a giant red glittering heart will hang at the centre of the new leisure centre, while the word ‘LIBRARY’ will be spelled out in two metre high letters along Clapham High Street outside the new library. The sculptures will be entirely covered with Logan’s signature brightly coloured hand-crafted mosaic of glass, mirror and found objects.

Community involvement has been at the heart of our development from the beginning. Join us and engage with the creative process of making these monumental sculptures for Clapham’s public realm!
